{"id":2853,"date":"2019-04-30T01:59:37","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T17:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ickf-kuoshu.org\/?p=2853"},"modified":"2019-04-30T01:59:37","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T17:59:37","slug":"regulations-on-the-ickf-international-grading-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ickf-kuoshu.org\/?p=2853","title":{"rendered":"REGULATIONS ON THE ICKF INTERNATIONAL GRADING SYSTEM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #999999;\">Adopted at the 6th ICKF General Assmbly Meeting held on December 31.2002<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 align=\"center\">SECTION 1-GENERAL PROVISIONS<\/h3>\n<p>Article 1<br \/>\nThese regulations shall be officially known as\u201dThe ICKF International Grading System Regulations\u201dhereinafter referred to as\u201dthese Regulations\u201dor\u201dthe Regulations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Article 2<br \/>\nThe ICKF hereby enacts these Regulations with the objectives of furthering the development of Kuoshu, the establishment of Kuoshu &#8220;Tuan&#8221; and &#8220;Chih&#8221; Grading System, promotion of international co-operation and the propagation of Chinese culture.\uff08The term\u201dKuoshu\u201dshall be the abbreviated form of the official description of &#8220;Chinese Kuoshu&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>Article 3<br \/>\nThese Regulations have been enacted in accordance with Article 9 of\u201dMeasaures for Establishment of Sports Supplementary Schools\u201dissued by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China, on 17 August 1976\uff1bletter reference number 21847.<\/p>\n<p>Article 4<br \/>\nThe examinations for conferring \u201cTuan\u201dand \u201cChih\u201don Kuoshu Practitioners of the ICKF shall be based on these Regulations.<br \/>\nHowever, for overseas members of ICKF, the examination for conferring \u201cTuan\u201dand \u201cChih\u201don kuoshu practitioners will be separately enacted in line with the provisions of these regulations.<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"center\">SECTION 2<br \/>\nORGANISATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF KUOSHU<br \/>\nGRADING COMMITTEE<\/h3>\n<p>Article 5<br \/>\nThe ICKF shall establish a Kuoshu Grading Committee (&#8220;the Committee&#8221;) responsible for implementing these Regulations. The members, including chairman, deputy chairman of the Committee numbering between 7 and 11, shall be nominated by the President of the ICFK and be appointed by the ICKF Executive Board for a term of 4 years, after which they are eligible for reelection.<\/p>\n<p>Article 6<br \/>\nThe Kuoshu Grading Committee established under article 5 shall be the highest world authority for the grading of practitioners of Kuoshu .The Committee shall be responsible for the supervision and review of Grading Examinations conducted by the following subordinate organisations\uff1a-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For examination for promotion up to and including 4th Tuan by each ICKF- recognized national federation\uff1b<\/li>\n<li>For examination for promotion up tp and including 3rd Tuan by each ICKF-recognised sub-national federalion.<\/li>\n<li>The examination for promation of Tuan by kuoshu associations immediately under the ICKF, shall be implemented under regulutions separately authorised by the ICKF.<\/li>\n<li>Intstructors of Kuoshu training units or schools, who have been duly qualified are empowered by the ICKF to carry out Chih Grading Examination.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Article 7<br \/>\nThe ICKF Tuan and Chih certifications,which are uniformly prepared by the ICKF,shall be requisitioned only by the authorised organisations referred to in article 6.<\/p>\n<p>Article 8<br \/>\nThe &#8220;Tuan&#8221; and &#8220;Chih&#8221; Examination Committee&#8217;s measures and administrative procedures for the Tuan and Chih Grading Examinations shall be enacted through a panel discussion chaired by the chairman.<\/p>\n<p>Article 9<br \/>\nThe authorised organisations (see article 6) shall enact their own measures and administrative procedures in line with the Provisions of these regulations.<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"center\">SECTION 3-GRADING STRUCTURE<\/h3>\n<p>Article 10<br \/>\nAll individuals who are members, in their respective nations, of an ICKF \u2013Recognised National Federation, including those who are under the age of 20 and hold up to 2nd Tuan, shall be eligible to apply for Tuan Grading Examinations.<\/p>\n<p>Article 11<br \/>\nThere are six Chih grades (Chih 6 to Chih 1 in\u00a0<u>descending\u00a0<\/u>order of seniority) and ten Tuan grades (1st Tuan to 10th Tuan in<u>\u00a0ascending<\/u>\u00a0order of seniority).<\/p>\n<p>Article 12<br \/>\nEach grade shall be identified by the colour of the Sash\uff08Belt\uff09as follows\uff1a-<br \/>\nGrade \u3000\u3000Description of Sash<br \/>\nChih 6\uff1a White Sash<br \/>\nChih 5\uff1a White Sash with green stripe.<br \/>\nChih 4\uff1a Green Sash<br \/>\nChih 3\uff1a Green Sash with brown stripe.<br \/>\nChih 2\uff1a Brown Sash<br \/>\nChin 1\uff1a Brown Sash with black stripe.<br \/>\n1st Tuan\uff1aBlack Sash with one yellow stripe.<br \/>\n2and Tuan\uff1aBlack Sash with two yellow stripes.<br \/>\n3rd Tuan\uff1aBlack Sash with three yellow srtipes.<br \/>\n4th Tuan\uff1aBlack Sash with four yellow stripes.<br \/>\n5th Tuan\uff1aBlack Sash with five yellow stripes.<br \/>\n6th Tuan\uff1aRed Sash with one yellow stripes.<br \/>\n7th Tuan\uff1aRed Sash with two yellow stripes.<br \/>\n8th Tuan\uff1aRed Sash with three yellow stripes.<br \/>\n9th Tuan\uff1aGold Sash.<br \/>\n10th Tuan\uff1aGold Sash With special features.<\/p>\n<p>Articls 13<br \/>\n4th Tuan up to l0th Tuan grade practioners shall be conferred the following official titles\uff1b-<br \/>\nGrade \u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000 Title \u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000English Translation<br \/>\n4th Tuan to 6th Tuan\uff1aChiao Lien \u3000\u3000coach\/Instructor<br \/>\n7th Tuan to 8th Tuan\uff1aShih Fu \u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000Master<br \/>\n9th Tuan to 10th Tuan\uff1aTao Chang \u3000\u3000Grandmaster<br \/>\nArticle 14<br \/>\nRegulations regarding uniforms, grade insignia, badges, etc shall be separately enacted by the ICKF.<\/p>\n<h3 align=\"center\">SECTION 4-EXAMINATIONS FOR CHIH GRADES<\/h3>\n<p>Article 15<br \/>\nTO be eligible for the Chih Grading Examinations,3months or more must have elapsed since the applicant received his last Chih grade.For 1st Tuan, applicants must have received their Chih 1 Grade at least 6 months earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Article 16<br \/>\nFor Tuan gradings, each applicant will be allocated activity points (including points earned while the applicant was a Chih grade) based on the results of competitions and other activities that have been officially sanctioned by the appropriate ICKF \u2013Recognised National Federation. (Points shall be allocated in accordance with the table in Appendix 2. This table may be amended, from time to time , by the Committee.)<\/p>\n<p>Article 17<br \/>\nThose organisations and individuals referred to article 6 shall have the authority to conduct Chih Grading Examinations based on the following criteria\uff1a-<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A. Promotion to Chih 5<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Fundmental stances<\/li>\n<li>Mandatory Bare-Hand Form.<\/li>\n<li>Form of candidate\u2019s choice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>C. Promotion to Chih 4<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Mandatory Bare-Hand Form.<\/li>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form of candidate\u2019s choice.<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form of candidate\u2019s choice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>D. Promotion to 1st Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form<\/li>\n<li>Strength Test<\/li>\n<li>Two-Man Set<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>B. Promotion to 2nd Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form<\/li>\n<li>Strength Test<\/li>\n<li>Two-Man Set<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>C. Promotion to 3rd Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form<\/li>\n<li>Two-Man Set<\/li>\n<li>Kuoshu Rules,Judge &amp; Referee<\/li>\n<li>Bare-Hand Sanshou, Weapon Chichi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>D. Promotion to 4th Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Demonstration<\/li>\n<li>Sports Injury &amp; Physiology<\/li>\n<li>Bare-Hand Sanshou ,Weapon Chichi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>E. Promotion to 5th Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon Form<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Demonstration<\/li>\n<li>Kuoshu Theory<\/li>\n<li>Bare-Hand Sanshou, Weapon Chichi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>F. Promotion to 6th Tuan<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Bare-Hand Form<\/li>\n<li>Weapon From<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Demonstratiion<\/li>\n<li>Kuoshu Theory<\/li>\n<li>Bare-Hand Sanshou ,Weapon Chichi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The promotion from 7th Tuan upwards will be based on the criteria set out in articles 21 to 23.<br \/>\nThe Bare-Hand and weapon Form shall in each instance be those chosen by the candidate. However, the candidate may not perform the same Bare-Hand Froms and Froms using the same weapons as the candidate\u2019s previous Tuan Grading examination.<\/p>\n<p>Article 21<br \/>\nCandidates for promotion to Tuan 7 and 8 shall submit their theses or books on Kuoshu Theory &amp; Practice or demonstration recorded on video. In addition, they wull be required to perform a teaching demonstration and to submit Kuoshu Theory for examination.<\/p>\n<p>Article 22<br \/>\nOnly those who have been recommended by their country\u2019s ICKF recognised National Federation in recognition of their dedication, achievments and reputation will be promoted, subjest to the approval of the ICKF ,to 9th Tuan.<\/p>\n<p>Article 23<br \/>\nOnly those who have been recommended by their country\u2019s ICKF recognised National Federation for their distinguished contributions to the promotion of Kuoshu, attainment of technical excellence in Kuoshu and their Martial Arts Morality will be promoted, subject to the approval of the ICKF to Sze 10th Tuan.<\/p>\n<p>Article 24<br \/>\nSubject to the approval of the ICKF, the Committee may confer Honorary Tuan grades without examinations for those who have contributed in a special way to the development of Kuoshu .The following are some examples\uff1a-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Generous donation for the development of Kuoshu.<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of Kuoshu and cultivation of outstanding Kuoshu practitioners.<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Kuoshu research and publishing important books on Kuoshu.<\/li>\n<li>Collecting and studying of historical Kuoshu events and materials which are widely accepted to be important to the development of Kuoshu.<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding leadership of Kuoshu organisations especially in promoting and popularising Kuoshu.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting Kuoshu international exchanges and well accomplished.<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding efforts in developing martial arts morality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Article 25<br \/>\nDepending on their actual Kuoshu attainments and training, Chih and Tuan grades\uff08maximum 3rd Tuan\uff09may be awarded to children aged 15 or less.A child who is already 2nd or 3rd Tuan can be promoted to the Adult Grade of 1st Tuan without examination when he or she reaches the age of 16.
